This month on Michelle Burnett's blog, "Following the Masters" the painting challenge is to do an interpretation of a painting from an artist of the Italian Renaissance era. I planned on doing a small painting to submit, but in the meantime, I thought it would be nice to post this one. I did this painting a few years ago, it is from a larger painting by Sandro Botticelli (1445-1510), called "La Primavera" (Spring). I love the figures of the Three Graces, all holding hands and dancing in a circle. It seems that Spring is arriving, everyday it is sunnier, the snow is receding, the birds are singing, it's finally here!!!

What a fabulous piece you did of Boticelli. I am sure to see another like it for following the masters.
