"A Single Egg"
Oil on 5"x7" Gessobord
I had a terrible time trying to get a photo of this without glare. This is the best one I could get.
I really like this painting tho, it's a simple subject but the shadows make it seem more dramatic, and my favorite part is the thin orangey glow along the top edge of the egg.
Thank you everyone for all of your great comments!

what a wonderful painting of an egg!
ReplyDeleteWOW...... what a fabulous Egg and I love that apple below too.
ReplyDeleteNice egg; I haven't painted one yet, but I heard they are deceptively difficult. Yours looks fully dimensional!
ReplyDeleteNice! I like the colorful reflected light along the bottom edge of the egg.
ReplyDeleteExquisitely painted edges, and I love the sense of space you have achieved in this.
ReplyDeleteDebbie, love all your latest paintings, but this one is great too because of how tough it can be to paint a simple subject well. You gave it lots of depth.
ReplyDeleteThis beautiful simple object is one of the most difficult to paint. I love the way you've captured the light and shadows. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteSuch simplicity, but so stunning!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work!
