"Lemon Peel"

Oil on 5"x5" hardboard panel
I've always wanted to try to paint a peeled lemon. I've never peeled a lemon before, so I just used a knife and cut the peel in a spiral shape. It looked so juicy, and smelled wonderful. I hoped my painting would give that impression.

  1. Very nice..........I can almost smell it! Funny story, I peeled an apple yesterday and took photos of it. Haven't painted it but maybe now I have to......?

  10. I love unique presentation of the lemon! I love every part of this... how the light catches the juicy parts, the shadows and highlights, the curve of the peel, the soft subtleness of the background! Lovely.
