"Pansy and Lily of the Valley" Oil on 6x8 inch board

Beautiful spring blooms, pansy and lily of the valley from my garden.

I started this with a quick sketch in thinned oil paint on a dry toned surface.

I found using a simple mixture of black, white, and yellow ochre useful for the petals and background.
