Companion of Diana
I wanted to experiment with this drawing a bit more, so I drew it again on white drawing paper with regular graphite pencil, instead of the carbon pencil as before. It wasn't much different. Then I drew it on a piece of light grey/brown pastel paper, so that the highlights would be white pastel, instead of the white of the paper as before. I liked doing that one the best.

So great that you did these, Debbie! Great exploration. I really love the one on toned paper. All are beautifully done.
ReplyDeletegreat research. These really help. Very nice ability to draw them so well every time.
ReplyDeleteDebbie, you are brave for three tries! I like working on toned paper for these kinds of drawings too, but I also appreciate your spiral bound version.
ReplyDeleteWonderful drawings, Debbie. The one on toned paper is also my favorite.
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone for your kind and thoughtful comments!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful drawings! I can't decide which one I like the best but the one on toned paper really looks great with the darker shadows. Great job on both Debbie!
ReplyDeleteThey all came out great.
ReplyDeleteDebbie, I thought of you when we received this assignment. I knew you would love it and handle it expertly. Indeed you did and more! The drawings so accurate, the lines so sensitive and the value studies so rich. All well done!!!
ReplyDeleteVery well done, Debbie! Really love the one on toned pastel paper! It allowed you to work up and down from a near mid value.
