Autumn Hydrangea

Above: The finished painting .................. Below: Work in Progress

Oil on hard board panel

I started this painting a couple of weeks ago, and I finally got around to finishing it up this weekend. I thought I would include a picture of it in progress along with the finished image. I always think it's so interesting to look back, and see what it looked like at an earlier stage.

  1. Very beautiful and ethereal, that must be a late hydrangea in the cup. I like the softness of the way you paint, lovely.

  6. This is painted so magnificently - I love the the attention to the texture of the objects and the beautiful edges. I have an old coffee cup of my grandmother's that looks just like this and I have always wanted to paint it - seeing this has definitely given me incentive!
