"Mineola and Bananas" Oil on 6x6" board
I tried to get a nice rhythm of light/dark/light/dark.. going through this painting. I've always liked that affect. I've also been trying to keep edges in mind as I go... I like edges that disappear and return, become sharper and then fade... it's so hard to do, I keep wanting to define all the lines.
I was planning on posting this last night, but we had a strong wind storm come through, and our power was knocked out! What a surprise to be suddenly in complete darkness... we were using our cell phone display lights to find our way to candles and flashlights, lol.

Really beautiful. Great values on the fruit. They look like I could just reach in and pick them up!
ReplyDeleteThose are great bananas! You know you love this one!
ReplyDeletethis is beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteYou have really achieved 3D with this one-plump and richly colored.
ReplyDeleteNow you have to peel that Mineola, and paint it- like doing the wave, painter style!
Very nice work for the edges! Your paintings always have that classic, quiet and peaceful look even if the subject are just simple fruits -- somehow in the careful rendering and thoughtful composition they start to take on a personality of their own...
ReplyDeleteIt's very realistic, yet not sharp and offensive like photos. Beautiful work of art.
