"Tea Cup of Strawberries" Oil on 5x7 board
I haven't bought strawberries in quite a while, they're just not as sweet in the winter. But, these smelled really good, I was surprised.... so I bought some, and painted them the same day, (and ate them too of course).
I love how this one came out, and I remember some good advise I once heard... to make sure that you arrange and rearrange your set up until you find something that you can't wait to paint! That is how this one went, I was sure about the composition before I started. Sometimes I get so impatient to just start painting, I think I will work things out as I go... and that usually leads to problems.

ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful, Debbie! I love how the light is soft and muted to the left. Your strawberries are perfection! Yum!
ReplyDeleteLovely painting!
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone for the wonderful comments!!
ReplyDeleteI've been reading back a few of your posts and upon seeing this painting I notice your skill at achieving those soft and clear edges you say are difficult. Well I can't tell they are difficult for you! This is an amazing painting-edges beautiful! I do love the bananas and orange, cup and eggs and toast paintings too! You just get better and better if that is even possible.
ReplyDeleteSimply lovely! I loved the colors and the composition.
