"Acorn Squash and Little Pumpkin" 5x7 oil on board

I started on a toned board, did a sketch with a dark color, and began to color in


I had some cranberries sitting nearby, but decided not to add them into the painting.

    whe you blocked in did you do a midtone and add shadow and highlight...missing that stp...thank you for sharing your process

      Hi Sharon, usually I do like to put in the dark shadows, and the lightest parts first over the midtone. But, I think it looks like I started coloring in that pumpkin before I finished putting in the shadows :-)
