"Waiting for Spring" Oil on 7x5 inch board

I bought this little house plant at the store the other day.  I felt like I needed some living greenery around to look at while I'm waiting for Spring.  I also bought a tulip plant that is about to bloom, which makes Spring seem like it's just around the corner, even tho it is a long way off yet.

  1. Hi Debbie,
I have just discovered your blog. What an amazing artist you are! You have really captured the details of this plant beautifully. Apparently these particular plants are very good for purifying the air.

  3. Hi, Debbie - I love this painting, but then again, I am a houseplant junkie. This is a Sanseveria or Snake Plant. It will grow really slowly, and it doesn't like much water, but it will be really happy in your house in the Northeast of you don't overwater it! They do clean the air, and you'll be able to paint it lots more times, at different heights! Have you detected my second love here? Yeah. Great painting!

    1. Sarah, Thanks for the comments, and ...you are right! I just checked the label, and it is a Sansevieria. You know your houseplants, thats for sure! I don't have any.. the few I did have died long ago. I don't have good light or window space in my little house for plants. So, this little one seemed perfect. It grows slow, needs little water and light, so I think it will survive :-)
