I started this one on the white gessoed surface with very thin oil paint. I waited about an hour hoping this underpainting would be dry enough to work on top of. It wasn't quite dry enough, but I went ahead and continued anyway. I painted in the background first, then the fruit.
The finished photo above is a bit bright.. especially the green apple around the highlight.
