"Summer Bouquet"

Oil on 5"x7" hardboard
These are some of the flowers blooming in my yard right now, roses, bachelor buttons, and daisies. I wish I was better at painting flowers. It took me days and a few roses, and quite a few tries to get that rose to look the way I wanted it to.

  1. Looks like you've done it Debbie. Very lovely.

  2. Your efforts proved worthwhile though- lovely painting! I especially love your paint handling on the daisies, and your limes are always well-rendered. I have tried a flower or two, but they always wilt too fast on me.

  4. Very lovely, your flowers are always so graceful. I'm with you on the rose challenge! So difficult. I just struggled with one myself and I like yours much better than my attempt. We will just practice and practice some more! :D

  5. I think it is beautiful, Debbie. I have to say that those daisies are just stunning (and the rose is quite lovely as well).

  6. Roses are hard! It's easy to get lost in the details with roses... But I love this new piece, it feels very fresh and the perky whites/pastels have a wonderful graphic quality against the dark backdrop.
