What I am working on next....

I started this painting yesterday, and it seemed to be coming along very nicely. It looked good under my lights on the easel, but when I brought it out into the other room, the colors looked much duller, especially in the orange. I took it outside to take pictures of it, and it looked even duller out there! So... it's back on the easel, and I scraped back some of the paint off the orange. I am praying that when I continue this painting tomorrow, that I won't ruin it!

  1. I too am coming to learn how important lighting is in a painting. That said, I think it looks fabulous as it is! 'Course, is that the fault of my monitor??

  2. This painting looks great in all the pictures I took, but in person.. it just was so flat and dull, and I don't know why. Lighting is so variable. I'm always learning how different painted colors will look under different lighting. ...and then trying to figure out how to deal with it!!! lol.

  4. Looks awesome to me, Debbie. I can't see what you need to fix. Then again, I'm not as trained an artist as you and it's your baby.
