"Tea Cup with Lemon and Strawberry"
Oil on 6x6 Gessobord panel
I think my favorite part of this one is the strawberry, lots of different shades of red, pink and orange. I had a lot of trouble with the lemon, since it is sitting on a silver tray there is quite a reflection coming up from underneath taking out the shadow. I tried to keep the painting loose, but.. somehow, I find I tighten it up a bit in the end. Gotta try not to do that!

The design is fabulous! Your objects go off the canvas dividing up your picture plane beautifully. I love it! Your style is very sophisticated...I don't know that you should "try to be loose"...your paintings are beautiful!
ReplyDeletePersonally, I am blown away by that gorgeous china cup! It is stunning!
ReplyDeleteLove the colors in your teacup. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThis does indeed have a great, close-up composition, and you paint the best strawberries! I've never attempted one- I'll have to wait awhile since now is not a good season for them in MN, but I'll bet you make them look too easy!
ReplyDeleteThe whole composition is sooo appealing, but the strawberry makes me want to touch it! Absolutely beautiful. Cheri
ReplyDeleteYour pieces are so beautifully painted and I love the fact that you do not have any hard edges. Very nice job!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful painting... I think you did a wonderful job throughout ! Thanks for your kind comments on my blog...
