"Three Bananas" Oil on 5x7 illustration board

I cut some illustration board into a few 5x7 pieces, and gessoed them.  I wanted to see what kind of surface it would make for oil painting.  I tried it out on this little banana painting, I think it worked out well.

    That sounds like a neat tip, Debbie, how many layers of gesso did you use? Terrific painting as always.

    These bananas are so realistic ..It makes me hungry! I love the wooden table as well...gorgeous piece, Debbie.!!

    Thank you everyone, Judy, I think I put 2 coats of gesso on, plus I put some raw umber acrylic paint in the gesso to tint it gray..it was a nice tone to paint on.
