Vase, Work in Progress

I've had this vase sitting around for ever, and I've always imagined how nice it would look in a painting, with just the right light falling on all those pretty lines...  But, the thought of trying to paint all those lines and scalloped edges, and value changes always made me put it off.    Well, I decided to give it a try, and see what happens.  I added a draped piece of cloth, and a little faux mosaic tile background.  I thought that pattern would be fun to paint.  The set up seemed to look pretty good with mostly neutral colors on the dark table top.  After I got finished with painting most of it in... it looks like it needs some color.  I should have probably worked that out before I started.   We'll see how it goes.
This is painted on an 8 x 10 inch stretched canvas.
