"Tea Cup with Holly" Oil on 5x7 board
I've been in the mood to paint something festive. I haven't had as much time as I'd like to paint lately, but I was happy to get this one done. As soon as I set it up, I couldn't wait to paint it, it just looked so pretty.
Thank you for the comments!

"Christmas Bulbs" Oil on 5x7 board
These are my favorite kind of ornaments. They've been around for years and years... and years! My mom always called them "bulbs". Every so often one breaks, but they are tough little things, even though they are made of glass.
Thank you all for the wonderful comments you've sent my way!!

"Crochet Angel"
Oil on 5x7 hardboard panel
This is a crocheted angel christmas ornament made by my aunt. I hang it on my tree every year. The berries are a decoration from a wreath that I added for some color. I like how this came out, I'm getting myself into the Christmas spirit!
I had a hard time getting a picture of it though, it's been dark, cloudy, raining and, now, snowing here for the past few days, and I like to take my pictures outside in the daylight. It's been a waiting game... watching for that sky to clear! I've got another similar Christmas painting in progress. I'll try and finish that one up tomorrow, and hopefully get a picture of it between the snow falls. :-)

"Christmas Ornaments w/ Ribbon 2"
Oil on 5"x7" hardboard panel
I had taken a few pictures of my ornament set up the other day, and couldn't decide which composition I liked better. So, I thought I would just do both. Here is a second painting with the same ornaments and ribbon. I loved painting the shine of the ribbon and all the reflections in the ornaments. I think I'll be looking for more reflective, shiny things to paint in the future.
Thanks for all the wonderful comments!! So great to hear from you all :0)

Christmas ornaments and Ribbon
I thought I would try to get myself into the holiday spirit today, by getting out a few Christmas decorations. But, once I saw the ornaments, I abandoned my decorating and spent the rest of the afternoon trying to paint an ornament and a piece of ribbon. I've never tried this before, and now I know why other artists desire to paint reflective surfaces, it's sooo fun, and different from anything else. I think this one is finished, I took this picture of it while it was still on the easel. The picture didn't come out too bad, but I'll take another one hopefully tomorrow in better light.
